Hey, i'm new to this forum and i have a problem that been bugging me for some time. I have a '66 Custom 500 and I have no idea what the red indicator light is by the parking brake light. It stays on when I first turn on the car and gradually flickers away as i start to drive. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks!

My owners manual says it's the parking brake indicator.

Sorry if I wasnt clear, the light is to the right of the parking brake light. Between the two lights is the brake release lever.

Yeah, nobody seems to. Does anyone have overdrive on their cars? Could that possibly have something to do with it?

My 68 XL has a similar light but it is blue and comes on when the engine begins to warmup. Owner's manual says not to run above 45 MPH until it is shut off. May or may not be the same for yours.

might be the alt light, flickering at start up due to idle not giving quite enough charge till you get some rpms... try also the solenoid in the regulater, my 62 500 gen light used to do the same thing as your mystery light (flickering at first) untill i adjusted the regulater bit, it now has 13-15 volts constant and comes on at the start up off the motor but then off after that

According to my owners manual it is an optional seat belt reminder light. My car has one of these but no e-brake light.
