Was walking down St Kilda Rd the other day and saw it come around the corner.

Had to look twice, but it was definitely BA and it was definitely 4 door. Had the wagon tailgate window instead of the normal utes, and the (shortened) tray looked like it was actually welded to the body (though can't be sure). It looked really well put together from what I saw of it...

Anyone know anything???

Could be a Hillier 4 door ute. I think they were making one, I'm not absolutely sure. Or Ford has updated the R5 to BA spec.

It sound to me like a cut-down wagon, just one of many ideas that I have designed in my head. If I only had Minges bankroll $$$.

I've seen around Sydney a grey VT Commode with the same treatment - a wagon with the rear end cut down into a tray-back, and the cabin ending behind the rear seats. Funny looking thing, made me look twice. Don't know who does the conversions, but it looked a pretty good job. I assume you'd be able to do the same thing with the Falcon too.

I saw an AU wagon converted to a 4 door ute with XR front in Galaxy Blue in Dandenong last week, it also had 17" alloys on and looked really good. The car yard near me has a 6 wheel AU1XR ute in red with the 17" Tickfords and that looks pretty damn good.

There is a mob up in QLD that does these sort of conversions on Commo's all the time. Cant remember their name tho.

Basically you can either give them a donor car or buy one outright, and they will put a 1 tonne style tray on almost any V series commo. I have even seen statos done.

I wonder if these guys are testing out conversions for BA's as well.

Yeah there's a company called New One Tonner who are based in NSW that does Commo's but had a look on their website and couldn't see any falcons...
