falkeen i've had mine since new and with 26000k's on the clock the only problem i've come across is a leaking diff cover.keep us posted on your ute search cheers mark

I had trouble with my auto when it changed back down to 1st it seem to want to change back by its self to soon and went in with one hell of a clunk. Mentioned it to Ford and got it fixed but apparently they were not going to have a recall just fix the transmissions for the people that complained about it. Had to remove the pan and fit a new solenoid. Than there was a recall to check radiators as well which I had done. Other than that it was a fantastic ute.
If its a 2001 model AU2 check to see if the ball joints have been replaced, mine had to be done at 30000km and I read on these Forums that quite a few others had to be done as well, something about the wrong grease being used, same old story quality control wasn't exactly top priority with Ford then and doesn't appear to be much improved with the BA from what you read here. Yeh i have driven a few, they go good, try and get one with the Factory kit as they look a bit ordinary without the flairs.
Only problem ive seen with them is tailshaft issues.
Just wondering what issue your referring to.
Ive done just over 70 000k's in my ute with no major issues. Balljoints,diff additive, radiator mod & discs skimmed is all thats been done on mine.
