Guys does anyone know about the computers in the BA's. If you only need a code to add Cruise Control. Then do you only need a code to fit T/C as it could be built into the software system. and just need activating. What other goodies i wonder just need an activation code. and or some switches. LOL premium sound in an XT with t/c. EHEHEH Im goin to look more into this.

wouldnt traction control and other options be done with a body control module not the ECU\PCM ?

Correct strife.

The other point worth noting here is that whilst a number of these functions are programmed via WDS they also require various hardware items to make them work.

Let's take the scenarios offered above:

1. Cruise - requires the 5 items of additional hardware.
2. Traction Control - requires upgrade from 3 channel ABS to four.
3. Premium sound - requires the Premium ICC, subwoofer and premium sound module.

All sedans have 4 channel ABS, wagon & ute have 3 channel. T/C is a separate module from PCM & BEM.

One mod I do like on the XR6T EEC is going into Police mode and overcoming the standard speed limitation. 255KPH (instead of the standard 230KPH) gives the car a chance really perform at the top end.

I was told that most performance chips (aftermarket) would disable the speed limiter in a falcon, which is what i plan to do,180km/h (my ute) does not do the engine justice. Police cars have the speed limiter taken off Maco65
PS I do not encourage ford owners to break the speed limit on public roads

be careful guys, the speed limiters are factory set on model variants for a VERY GOOD REASONS.
Each of the vehicles are set at a particular limit because of 1. tail shaft limitations, 2. speed ratings on tyres and probably other reasons as well???
