Hey all. I was thinking of getting a trailer then getting the BA tray from a ute to put ontop of it. Would maybe get a canopy to put on if i know i wanna go somewhere to sleep in it. Then have MotoX Bike tie down points in it for my bike.

Any idea how much they are brand new and how much they are 2nd hand?

Buy "just parts" magizine, on the first or second page there is an add for
Rex Gorell ford , they specialise in wholesale new ford parts including
body shells and ute tubs,dont know how much they are tho!

Mate I thought I saw one on ebay a few days ago, i tried to relocate it but cant right now, have a squiz it may be there, it was black, brand new off a ba, just the ticket. Sorry i cant give you more than that, it may be gone already

i have been toying with same idea myself.

i have seen the ute bodies sitting out the back of a couple of ford workshops , i guess they must have taken them off to fit flat trays.

should be able to get a trailer maker to build a chassis with axle so that the ford body will just bolt straight on.

i think that the biggest differance between models is the slight differance in the rear bumper ( changes to the reversing light ) and the place ment of the badges.

the later AU-XRs have bigger wheel tubs to prevent the tyers rubbing on the inner guards.( makes slightly less tray floor area).

the au ute wellbacks have no steel floor it is a plastic liner. a friend of mine has one i am not sure if it is for sale though. what do you want to pay for it and i will ask. it is in sydney metro. and has the liner.

i asked him today. and got the usual response. who wants it and what for? i told him a trailer and he also has a damaged one that some how he thinks is more useful for some reason. i did not go into it with him as i got sidetracked into something else. if you want to talk to him email me and i will give you his phone number. he is a pretty smart fella when it comes to making and modifying so the damaged one might be the go ring and chat to him, he is reasoneable bloke
