Re: centre muffler on xr turbo
On turbo charged motors 90% of the exhaust noise is suppressed by the turbo its self.
Also the turbo also produces nearly all the back pressure you need.
I have had 3 turbo charged cars ( 91 RX7, 95 Nissan GTST, 97 Nissan GTR ). All with exhaust mods.
And the systems were similar in the fact that none of the them had a muffler, But I did have a straight through muffler on the back of the system, and all of the cars got an expellant power gain. And if you were to do a mod like this I would think you should get a
great result and sound shi- hot to. :
If I had the XR6T I would go with a 3.25 inch dump pipe straight of the turbo then reduced into a 3 inch mandrel bent system with a
hiflow CAT and nice straight though muffler or resonator on the end. this will increases power and sound great. Also you wont get any drone
( careful with the cats as some exhaust fitters are as dumb as dog shite. And don't fit the cats and the oxygen sensor
in the correct position, there for causing the sensor to fail and the motor to run like a heap of crap)
Hope this helps you.:beer2
