Finally Arrived XR8 ute.

Picked up my BA XR8 ute auto and 18" wheels on Monday. I had the suspension done by kingsprings and it looks and feels great. I must say there is a big difference between my old AU2 XR8 and the BA it is like chalk and cheese. After hearing different reports on lowered suspension and 18" wheels on how rough the ride could be I would go as far to say it rides better than the standard suspension. I know if you carry a lot of weight the original suspension would be brilliant no doubt but I feel there should be a option from Ford to supply a sports suspension as well. After lowering the ute the outside edge of the spoiler next to the front wheels is only approx 10mm lower than the standard suspension.. Unfortunately we need a canopy for our business so we took it off our old ute and fitted it to the new. In one way having the same back on the ba ute is handy it is the canopies 3rd time around from the XLS ute to the AU XR8 ute and now to the BA. Overall I am very happy with the new ute... so far. I'll try and post a pic but I am having trouble sizing the pics.

Re: Finally Arrived XR8 ute.

The best canopy is on the bonnet - the one over the BOSS.

Your not wrong there AP. I have driven a lot of cars, trucks and semi trailers over the last 27 odd years but I can't remember ever looking over such a stylish bonnet.

Re: Finally Arrived XR8 ute.

Thanks Guys,
I had a 8 month wait on the ute ordered on the 22nd of October and picked it up on the 23 of June. The suspension roughly cost around $1100 because it had to have a camber kit as well. I think it would be one of the cheapest mods you could do to a ute. I was a bit apprehensive about getting the front and back lowered. I was going to do the back only but after talking to Garry Davis at Sunshine Ford he said the whole balance of the vehicle would be out if the back only was lowered. I am glad I took his advice because the ute rides like a car and handles like it is on rails. As I said previously after the whole vehicle was lowered the front outside edge of the spoiler next to the front wheels is only approx 10mm lower than standard and if anything is going to hit driveways, gutters ect that would be it. If you need any info on suspension mods give Kingsprings a call or email.
