hey all

i have purchased a ford xf ute and i have been fixing it up,hear and there

but when it seem to warm up it blows blue smoke i have tryed to clear it
but it continouly seem to blow it does any one have any kinda clue why
it would be doing it.

any help would be apprecrated

Gooday Xfguys. Your blue smoke is burning oil. This oil gets into your combustion chamber either from ring bypass or through valve stem oil seals. Or both. I would suggest that your motor is showing signs of it's age. Have you done a compression test? You might be looking at a new set of rings and/or a head job (pardon the pun). How many klm's has your vehicle done? These 4.0 litre injected motors have a reputation for needing head gasket replacement from 150,000 onwards. Good luck with it, cheers.
