After having my BA Ute dumped with a Herrod Suspension kit, it looks a whole lot better and even handles the corners with much more confidence. Having said that, I went for a 'spirited' drive yesterday through the mountains, and hitting a few 'dippers' it bottomed out, scraping the exhaust/underbody. Surely this suspension kit must be right on the limit in terms of 'roadworthiness'! ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS?

The price you pay. I remember at the Riad last year driving the great ocean road. My AU2 was a blast - but Grunter's car was scraping all over the place and he had to pussy along. I'd rather have a car with a bit of extra ride height and be able to fang it when I want to.

That's what happen's with lowered car's,when I lowered mine I hit a few thing's aswell, you just have to learn to remember it's lowered now and be carefull when driving,these thing's happen.

Was your car standard ride height or Grunters was just EXTRA low? I saw a pic of your AU2 XR8, it was red with those TE50 wheels, but I can't remember if it was lower.

My AU2 XR8 was stock in the suspension department. I found it to be very very good for things like the Great Ocean Road.

Hi Luke , have the Herrod mod's on the XR8 ute and think I may have to add an extra leaf seems to scrape it's bum a fair bit , how have you found the rear axle tramp ???, mine is absolute crap in the wet .

MMM spend a heap of money and go slower, dont make sence to me,If I were spending money on suspention mods I would want to go faster !!!!

have a look at polyair springs, they can do wonders

A combination of full car, wide tyres and low suspension = tyres rubbing guards. As Pete says it's the price you pay.

nb: Note how I'm being diplomatic Lunatic.

edit: btw my suspension isn't Herrod's spec.

does anyone have a pic of HERRODS lowering kits on the BA XR8 ute?

im seriously thinking about getting it done, but want to see how low it is first, and secondly, all the bad points about it.. ie: bottom out..
