Well, picked the MadMobile up on Friday. Got there at four ready to do my pre-pickup inspection. Now I had already checked the machine out fresh off the truck on Thursday and was pretty wrapped with the paint, bodykit etc. No underside scrapes, no great misalignments etc. The passenger front alloy had been curb-scraped and the driver front had a small almost excusable nick in the outer rim (looked like a manufacturing problem. At my prompting by pick-up time they had replaced both and there was now another 17” stowed underneath the tray. The Ford factory cancelled these as factory fit item unless the premium brakes were optioned. I had already ordered the alloy months before Ford’s edict so the dealer obliged, the nice people that they are.
Had to wait about half an hour for them to bring it round front. This was because a colleague of mine at work also ordered a phantom XR6 and coincidentally ended up picking it up at the same time so the PD crew were “flat out” getting these two machines ready. When the ute did show up I had a good quick look over it and the dealer wondered why I wasn’t smiling. Well no locking fuel-cap, locknuts, momo shifter, bonnet protector or pollen filter. To top it off, no second remote. A quick look over my sales agreement and the sales crew were a little bit red faced as all these items were clearly listed. Well locknuts were put on in short-order and a second remote was quickly programmed (seems to be faulty, wouldn’t work for Mrs Madder the other day, at least she found out the alarm works). Next both vehicles were put out the front for a dodgy pic (see link below). Finally the paperwork was sorted (including the documenting of the missing bits not in stock) and it was out the front for a first drive. Nice salesman got me to take him across the road where he filled it with BP Ultimate. He said it was the least he could do for my hassles. Dropped him off with a hand-shake and off I went……..
stay tuned for the next chapter of the Madmobile Chronicles. Same Mad time, same Mad channel.

Nope...especially in Merc Silver. I think I'll forgo the stripes though. That's something that should be left for the BIG Boss. Noted your dogs the other day, beautiful. My Doberman and Dobie-X haven't been for a spin yet. Yesterday was maximum wind-chill factor and they aint got coats like yours. Also haven't finished the heavy-duty harness system yet. I'm afraid they might bail out the first coupla times when they realise they no longer have the loudest bark in the neighbourhood.

fwoah, fantastic!
atleast they've been nice about the missing extras.
Thanks EFFFalc, the dealer's attention to detail has been less than great. Fortunately it's worked in my favour as they've been on the back-foot and I've been meticulous about the details. Thanks to everyone here at FF I've learnt alot about how to deal with these guys and what shit to watch out for. After all this is my first car purchase, and a brand newy at that. Prior to this I had a 69 Premier as a loaner from my folks (years ago) and the Saab is registered as Mrs. Madder's.
SO cheers to FF for your support these four months.
