I rang the Hearld-Sun Drive journo's yesterday after I couldn't find the BA Ute "First Impression" report as listed in the index. Managed to speak to the actual writer of the story who was a little pissed the story was held over because of space. Anyway, we spoke for almost half an hour and to keep it short he loved the barra ute and wrote as much. I asked about the leaf sprung rear end and handling etc.. becasue I'm looking at ordering a wagon but have not seen any road reports yet. He stated quite simply that he "had to keep looking behind to remind himself it was actually a ute" (barra182). Only once on gravel and really pushing it did the rear end become "skatey" but the rear leaf spring setup is very good. He didn't have a load in the rear which made him even more impressed with the total package.
