New user, about to buy XR6 ute - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hi all, just stumbled across this place by accident.
I'm just about to sign the paperwork for my first ute, i currently own a VT commodore and have changed camps !!

I'm thrilled with the XR6, i looked at the Holden S ute but it doesnt come close to the XR6.

Anyway my only sticking point is the colour. Probably shockwave, i like the Rapid but i think it will probably draw more unwanted attention !

Anyway cool site, i think i'll come here a fair bit !!

Congratulations mate! I brought myself a xr6 Turbo just before christmas and am expecting it on the 31st of jan...

Well thats the date they gave me, dunno if it will be ready by then....I got mine in black by the way :)

I too ordered mine on around the 20th of December and was told a it would be in late Jan. Rang ford the other week and was told that it's due for completion on the 12/02 and which means I'll get it about a week later. That will mean about an 8½ week wait. I realise that the Chrissy break has to do with a few of those weeks. Anyway. Just interested to know if you have taken hold of yours yet.

Also I was tossing up between the Holden S and XR6 (on appearance) but once I checked out the S the choice was clean cut. No competition. I was after leather interior and where as Ford have 2 leather options Holden could only offer an after market fit out. Bugger that I wanted it to be factory fitted.
Lots of little finishing touches make a big difference.

oh yeah it'll be shockwave blue, sports leather seat, sports wheel, hard coloured cover, LSD .... blah blah.

Heya cammo, no still havent got mine yet. Rang them the other day and gave me some excuse that i couldnt believe.

He said "I'll have you driving it by the end of the week". He's got one more day or there will be an angry caller on the phone, as i have not had a car to drive for about 6 weeks now. :(

I wish I could say I'd be getting mine tomorrow. I sold my last car 3 days after first advertising it, so I too haven't had a car for about 6 weeks. It's killing me.

well at least you dont have to watch your ute sit there and not be able to drive it for 5 months liek i had to. trust me its a much worse feeling.
