Hey Guys,

If you have a XR ute, could you have a look at the rear number plate, I have NSW white slim number plate, told the dealer that I am going to be using them, and when I picked it up they had put the normal yellow nsw on it.

So what I am getting at, if you could look at your xr and see if there is two hole below your number plate, I want to know if they drilled them, or they come factory drilled..

Dealers says they come that way, but I dun beleive him (hello Shannon) and if they do not come predrilled I want them filled and fixed!

Number plate holes are pre-punched front and back. Check any non-plated car on a Ford lot. Vic slimlines seem to balance fine on the pre-punched holes.

Aren't there holes pre-punched for slimline and normal-sized plates making it 6 pre-punched holes?

Nope. On all I've seen there have been 2-holes front and back. I actually checked my slimlines on a dealer ute a while back as I thought they may look unbalanced and that I would have to put in two more but using the pre-punched holes looked OK. Thats just my opinion though.

i got personlised plates on my ute, i ordered a normal sized plate for the back and put a slimline on the front, same price in Victoria.

In my AU only the top holes were pre punched, I know this because the dealer forgot to put the plates on and because i was in a rush he just gave them to me to put on myself - dodgy yes - but it was 6 pm on a Friday night so what do you expect.

As for number of holes, a ute I looked at a while ago had only two. The XR6T ute I was looking at yesterday had four...

With my slimline plate I'll be showing two holes. What a bugger.

I replaced my front standard plate with a slimline, it mounted in the same two holes, there were only two holes.
