Anyone out there figured out how to get rid of the speed limiter yet ????

Hit it in 3rd the other day .........still have 2 gears to go .

I believe we in the utes have a longer tailshaft and Ford limited us because they were frightened of tailshaft whip , correct ???? or were they scared that we might make these puppies get up and boogey !!!

chiptorque can remove limiter but be careful of high speed breakages. a lil problem at that speed is a very very big problem

Chris, i take it you have a AU XR8 ?
I had an AU2 Pursuit with some mods done, and it hit the limiter at about 185 kph (on a private road of course) They have a one piece alluminium tail shaft, yhat whips like a skipping rope apparantly. I had a Cesco two piece tailshaft made and had the speed limiter removed by Chiptorque, it would then run out to about 230kph ( on a private road )

Phil, do all BA utes have 2-piece tailshafts now or just the V8s (surely the XR6T would)? If so you could most likely put one of those in.

My AU2 Pursuit has a limiter at 180kmph, i asked Ford about getting it removed and the price for a chip was NZ$1800 and then you had to use 96 octane fuel instead of 91, dont know what fuel you have in OZ. It's costing me enough now in petrol and would cost me even more to have to put in 96 octane. I'm going to leave it in as i'll just get myself in way too much trouble if i didnt have it, the roads are just way to long and straight around here.
