Hi Guys, just wondering if anyone has had the ongoing problem I seem to have with a knocking noise coming from the front RH suspension area. I have had my ute (au2 xr6 vct) back at the dealers twice now and each time they say they have fixed it, the first time they said the chassis bolts attached to the sub frame were loose? (quality control? its only done 30000km) then they told me it was the shock absorber needed tightening--WTF!! and today when it started making the noise again the mechanic said it was the ball joints, when assembled had used the wrong grade of grease!! he went on to say it was a problem that was not uncommon!! has this happened to anyone else? any feedback would be appreciated

I had my ball joints changed at about 20000k's, my mate had his done at about 35000k's.(both AUIIXR8's). Must be a common problem.

Upgraded ball joint spec is a known issue for AU. See how you go, but the ball joints are often the final fix.

Thanks for your help guys, must be the ball joints, hopefully this will be the last problem I have, since owning my ute I have had ongoing problems (mostly minor) but up until I bought it no vehicle had ever let me down getting to work in over 20 years owning Hi-lux's and Navaras, boring I know but 100% reliable, in the last 7 months Ive owned my Ford its let me down twice and Ive had 20 guys standing around at 5am waiting for me to let them into work, however I am remaining positive (at the moment anyway)as I do enjoy driving it
