i have an xr6 ute, and need to know what the security features are, ie i think there is immobiliser, but how good are these?...should i get something else?...if so where?... and what

Tough question, there are loads of different alarms offering all kinds of features right up to Tracking systems. Depends on how much you want to spend.

On my utes I've had always had a good alarm and ultrasonics in the rear, the ultrasonics can be a pain if you're in and out of the back regularly.

First of all, when i saw this i thought fu** someone has had one stolen!

Anyway, I know bugger all about what security they have standard (i keep a louiseville slugger onboard personally ) but i have a QuikTrak 24 hour monitoring alarm fitted in my standard ford key pad. I have had this alarm for 2 years (was transferred from my hilux trade in) and i cannot fault it. I sleep easy knowing its there. The slightest hint of trouble and they call me, if they dont get me at home or mobile... they send the boys after it
