i was drivign along today, and saw a nice red AU 1 xr8, and was looking at the price. 24 with 67000 on the dial. less then my ute, only slightly however.

the biggest selling point is it already has power windows, cruise, a v8, and is MANUAL!.... yeewwwww

just wondering is it worth it ? find out about the funds tomorrow.. what about rego and insuanrce being more.. also how much heavier are they on petrol compared to the I6 ? i know heaps of ppl on here have au xr8's so xany comments please let me know

I think its about $4-5k too much and you can pick up series 2/3s for that now and they are so much a better car/ute to drive.

I had an AU2 XR6 VCT before getting an AU3 XR8 and to be quite honest with you found very little difference in acceleration up to 100kph after that the 8 pulls away.
As far as fuel economy goes working in MPG I was getting 23 around town/work and 25 on a trip, to my surprise I get 27 on a trip in the 8 and 21 around town/work, because the 8 uses premium fuel it is costing me an extra $10 a week for gas (app 270-300 k's a week) and is worth every cent, I am not sure of regulations over there but here big bore exhausts are legal and $10 a week is nothing to hear the sound of an 8 under acceleration.
