Re: ute hard lids

dont buy one.you get a bit of extra security but the trade off is you cant put anything higher than about 400 mm in the back since you cant drive with the hard cover uip

Re: ute hard lids

Yeah if the hight of the stuff you wanna cart around isn't a problem then go the ford one it is the smoothest looking one. Ive got the factory one on my XR8.

Gives you a water proof spot to put your gear as well.

Re: ute hard lids

The hard lid comes off in a jiffy! So if u need to carry stuff that is tall, it comes off.

Re: ute hard lids

Adelaide ute accessories do a cover that only suits holdens, but it has different locks that ya can leave unlocked but still latch closed.
I was asking about the cover an the bloke said that they don't fit on falcons cause the liner comes out to far on the edges but apparently the locks will fit in a standard ford cover.

More info on these locks appreciated?..The fords ones are a pain! Plus you don't know whether they are locked or not, without giving the big handle (Read "wing" ) a shoulder dislocating skyward heave!

Re: ute hard lids

Visit the Adelaide Ute Accessories website, i think they have some pics of them on there.
They are similar size to the standard ones except they are have a pop-up catch setup aswell as the key lock. Sorta hard to explain but they work really well.
