Hi Everyone

I was just wondering what warranty claims you have all had as I have had a few, and have a few other things that need checking out now.

Well I have a manual BA XR6 ute and have had it back to the dealer for:
- Creaking noise from the steering.
- Squeaky clutch pedal
- Strange whirring noise that sounds like its coming from one of the wheels that the fan belt runs on.

I have the 'normal' driveline clunk like a lot of manuals...but you learn to drive it in a way to minimise it, so I don't worry about it.

Bought car in August in 5000ks I have had to change

-Crash pad - Tear around the traction control switch.
-Battery leaking - Acid leaking everywhere. Had ASK them to change the battery
-3 - Control centers - First had 3 blown pixels, second wouldnt play cd's
-Window Tinting - Strip and retint, crap under the tint all over the place
-rattle behind dash (after replacing crash pad)

I have '03 xr8 manual

-5th gear replaced @ 4000km's
-clicking in steering
-air-con pump replaced and gased twice
- stalling seems to have sorted itself out
-driveline clunk (normal)
-steering wheel loose
-still rattles in right from caliper

Well I'm not the only one then that has had few things done.

I have had:
Electric mirror switch replaced because it didnt work
Heater fan replaced because it was unbalanced and noisy
Back window and tint replaced because of crap under the tint.

Thats all that I have had fixed so far but it now needs:
Electric window switches replaced
The steering is making a clunking noise
The front bumper is starting to fall off
The side mouldings are starting to fall off
I noticed today that all the bolts holding the tub in place need tightening

My brother in laws XR8 has had the tail gate replaced because it locked and couldnt be opened. He has also had the steering rack replaced which sounds like it could be a common problem.

New wiper motors on day one, cause the wipers didn't stop at the bottom of the windshield and had to get the drivers door strip (colour coded one) glued back on.

15,000kms service:
- Power Steering Shudder
- Front brakes shudder
- Front door strip peeling again
- Diff leaking
- Diff clunking so loud you'd swear there are teeth missing
- Terrible bearing grumble in second gear under boost

I only expect to see the first three items fixed, the last three will be classified as normal. So then I'll run my 10psi edit and blow the diff to smitherines and reload my stock tune and get replaced that way

Got a new power steering pump.. very loud, a new hard ute lid.. very warped, new wiper blades.. very jumpy..

I still want to get them to look at the clattering that occurs most times I start her up.. It sounds like the lifters are dry but I'm told by users herer that it relates to the timing chain tensioner.

That's about it for me.

I have manual XR8 ute and had drama about 6 months ago with the throttle sensor - light kept coming on and the thing started run like it was on 2 cylinders and out of fuel ( it wasnt) - they said it had been coded incorrectly and was running wrong voltages, but the problem is back bigger than ever - sometimes it can take me 6 or 7 goes at starting it - fires up then dies with just reds on the dash, or i can be driving along at say 80km/h minding my own business when the whole thing shuts down - kinda nice when turning corners and you have no power steering OR throttle, steering intermittently gets heavy and light, and throttle can sometimes 'pulse' - dont move the right foot and i'll speed up to about 80, then die back down to 60 - i think its possessed!

side molding came off
replaced falcon badge it was not level
sun glass holder
2 sets of pwr window swiches
cluch now this one sudders
rear springs
steering wheel
drives seat rebuilt
dirvers seat recoverd
and it has been re flashed 2 or 3 times hard to start
and last of all petrol pump


other than that its been no problems at all

Well I have now discovered an oil leak on mine. So theres another thing to add to the list.
