Window tining on BA's? Has anyone had it done. Since the aerial is now in the rear window, apparenlty if you get the windows tinted, it creates interference with radio reception. Anyone got this problem or heard anything?
I am slowly pacing myself to the point at which I upgrade to the BA...
I have it all planned, but this window tint issue is bugging me!
Non metallic tint is okay. A good tinting company should know what to use.

I had the same concern when tinting a BA XR6. The tinting company used a product called 'sun protection', it is non metallic and looks fantastic. There has been no difference in radio reception
This has come up before, some people have had reasonably bad radio reception, others have had no problems. Ask the tinting companies about the antenna, and what they do.....if they are half-decent they can assure you that they have done some BAs and they have had no complaints.
The tinting company the dealer uses should be fine, but ring up independently and ask the dealer the price....you would be surprised the amount the dealers jack up the price.

Check your state rego rules in regard to tint. In NSW you can tint the windows BEHIND the driver beyond 35% on comercial vehicles. Although to be honest, anything beyond 35% is a PITA.

This is what I did - Ask the dealer which tinter they use ( the tinting company probably has done hundreds of BA's by now so your car will get the benefit of the tinter having had already practiced on many cars to get it right) - contact them independantly and say the dealer referred you to them - they will/ should give you the cheaper trade price.
