I am just wondering if anyone has any opinions on these two models as I am looking to buy one in about 3 weeks. I prefer the look of the XG and the fact that it is cheaper but what I really want to know is how much better is the XH and if it justifies the extra expense.

The XH has a much more modern front suspension like the EF-EL, the XG has a similar front suspension as the XF.

The XH engine is equiped with the EEC-V computer, XG EEC-4. But from memory both engines on paper make 148kw as teh dual intake manifold wasn't fitted to the XH.

Interior the XH gains an EF instrument cluster with EF style trimming and switch gear.

I too preferred the XG look rather than the "cross-bred" XH and it was also closer to what I wanted to spend when I was ute shopping a few years ago. I went with the XG and always regretted not spending the extra on the XH for the reasons that Strider explained. Still enjoyed owning the XG though.

I owned (still own) an ED at the time so could easily compare the benefits of the SLALS front end design and the Rack_&_Pinion steering compared to the 60's designed X-series front end. If I was to do it again I would go with the XH no hesitation.

IMO the XH will become (is) the classic Falcon Ute (last of the integrated cab design).

the Very best feature of the XH over XG is the Electric thermo fan.
i would never buy another falcon without an electric thermofan. gave me the bloody shits.
