hi everyone, i just signed up to the forums after reading them for a couple of weeks.
anyway, i'm looking at buying a XH xr6 ute, but i just wanted to find out a bit more about them, so do any of you guys know of any good sites with details about them?
also insurance is the only other concern for me, i'm only 18 (19 shortly) but i think insurace might kill me, does anyone know what it might cost for full comprehensive insurance?
I can't really offer you any solid advise on the ute but I'd like to say welcome to the site & have fun Doesn't it feel good to no longer be a lurker:s5
As a previous owner of an XH XR6 ute I can tell you that you won't be dissapointed. They go like stink on shyte, stick to the road like shyte on a blanket and are pretty good on juice too. 164kw of sweet Tickford enhanced I6.
Insurance shouldn't be too bad seeing as though they are a few years old now. When mine was new it cost me 800 bucks to insure it for 35k. I was 20 at the time. Any other info you would like to know just ask!
Originally posted by antt oh, i think that new shape came along with the XH as well didn't it? it doesn't really matter if it's XH or XG, so long as it's got the ef/el front
XH was the first of the EF front.. XH2 picked up the V8 and the EL front for the XR..
As for Insurance, try Ford Insure ( www.fordinsure.com.au) im 20 and paying $1000 a year for my car and they allow 'basic' mods. NRMA wanted $1600 in comparison.

thanks for all the reply's guys, it's proving much harder to find a decent ute than it is to find a sedan, ah well, i'll have to keep looking.
also, does anyone know any sites that have specs on the ute, like performance and options that came with them?
try www.redbook.com.au they have all the specs there. as well as piccies. I have an XG XR6 and I agree with the earlier posts, you wont be disappointed, unless you're expecting a limo ride.
