i was thinking of buying a 97 XH xr6 ute it has 290000kms 5spd new clutch new brakes and rotters, just had the head gasket and the head rebuilt, no body kit on it but can be fixed:)

how much are these cars going for he wants $10,500 for it is that a good price all not?

It would want to be in real good nick with those kays on it, that's the sort of territory where things start wearing out and costing $. That depends on the life it's had, but that's something you will have to judge by the vehicle condition & what's been done to it (maintenance and repairs)

so should i try to knock him down to $9000 the body not the best and i was going to get a jmm rebuild and dev kit for it.


how can you tell if the 5spd has had it?

It will be difficult to shift gears, and possibly crunch when doing so. It may also have bearing noise in certain gears.

I'd offer less than $9000, more like $7500.

way too high especially with the Ks and the crappy body. its an XR6 but still you could get better for that price. keep looking i would suggest.

i had a look around and have seen ute in top nick for the same price so i think i look somewhere else

can you get the roller door type cover for the XH and still have ladder racks or has someone made a lift up lid with the racks im looking at buying one and what price would they be?

I have a 97 XHII XR6, 5sp man, with quite a few extras (mags,hardtop,nice stereo setup,extractors,k&n,minor work, lowered), no body kit (like the standard look), 128 rwkw, 123 000kms,white, and paint and body in perfect condition and wouldnt sell it for any less than 15k which i dont think is unreasonable, what do you think ??
