xr6 ute

hey every1. im new here just got a few questions. im ordering my blood orange xr6 ute at the start of march and was just wondering if the premium brake upgrade is worth the 3 grand u hav to pay or is there a better after market upgrade for around the same price? also i like the rims on the djr 320 and just wanted plps opinion of them on a ute cos they look fair awesome on the sedan and what they are called? im also gettin new exhaust. is herrods the way to go? one last question has anyone fitted a dvd player and/or playstion 2 in there ute cos one of my mates said stick it in the glovebox and u can get the screen come out from top of dash where passenger airbag would go? can this b done! thanx

Ask your mate where he has seen this and let us all know!

Yes the brakes are worth it if you like "spirited" driving.

The DJR wheels are Herrod Wheels.

Orange XR6ute<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_613547", true);</SCRIPT> welcome if you are getting big brakes i think you have to order your ute with 18's those big brakes dont fit with the 17's..herrod wheels retail around $8000 there 19's. so the brakes end up costing $3000 then you have to pay $2000 for your 18,s thats for 5, add,s up to $5000.

Re: xr6 ute

premium brakes should fit in the 17's, they are not much bigger than stock...

On the BA you can not have a 17'' wheel, if you order the premium brakes. When I ordered mine I found this out, you have to order 5x18'' rims because a 17'' or a normal spare wont fit, with big brakes.
That’s why the BA pursuit Ute comes with 5 alloys unlike the BA XR range the 5th alloy is an option. If you go to the ford website when configuring your Ute with price and options it tells you this when you select the 18’’s it says mandatory with premium brakes...here's a link hope it works..

Re: xr6 ute

The premium brakes are only needed if you are going to do some track work.
On the road a change to better pads is all that's required.

Re: xr6 ute

FPVXR8..

Mark, i have a mate with the premium brakes.. you do not need 18" wheels.
he runs the stock wheels 17" and as XTS220 said, you only need the spare wheel to be 17", same as running wheels.

i think you might be confused with the FPV BREMBO brakes. the premium brakes on XR's are bigger piston and calipers and grooved disks. the calipers are blue, unlike the red brembos. The Prusuit being a FPV vehicle has the option of maybe FPV's premium brakes, unlike Fords Premium brakes.. follow me? ford have bigger than stock so called premium brakes and FPV have even bigger than ford, and yet they call them premium..

but in saying that....ive seen it in the flesh, blue calipers on a citric acid XR6 ute.. looks bloody crap.
although, they do stop pretty well.. only a little bit of fade i found driving the 6 ute.

Take care
Teza

Re: xr6 ute

Aren't the premium brakes on XR's black. I thought only GT's got the blue calipers on the premium brakes, and red on the brembos.
