Not sure my fuel economy is that crash hot just wondering what every one else is getting. my ute is currently stock with 8000 kms and i get about 12.7l/100km

When do you re-set the computers fuel average and what conditions do you drive in?

I haven't re-set mine for a little while, but I get about 10 out in the open (100 km/hr). If I watched the fuel during the week when I just do stop-start trips to work and back... it'd be about 13-14.

This is with a manual and its done less than 2000k's.

i usually re set the trip comp when i refuel but some times i dont worry about it. im driving in 80 and 100 k zones and dont give it to much. My ute is also a manual. love the colour of your ute TJS-81 looks great

I have an xr6 ute (04/04) with 5000 klms and is averageing around 8 - 9.5 l/ 100klm sitting on 100 - 110 and around town of 14 -16 ltr/100 klm. The other day I was towing a 8 x 5 tralier with 2 lounge suites in it and averaged around 15 ltr/100 klm which I was happy with.

My Dad has a xr6 sedan (05/04) and has done 3500 klms and canaverage around 12 klms/ltr on the highway and 8 in town

My BA Ute has done 20 000 km's.

and averages 10 - 11 litres per hundred at 110 on the highway,
and around town 14-16 litres per hundred.

Just recently my ute started using like 20-25 Litres per hundred !!! NOT HAPPY!!
I took it too ford today, turns out the manifold and exhaust had not been fitted properly at the factory, and had got a hole in it, which was fooling the air sensor and causing it to run very rich (very is not a good enough word to explain how rich) the funny thing was it still ran pretty good. The first time I took it in, they replaced the coil which was faulty and that made it run 100 times better, but now they have replaced the manifold and fixed the exhaust and changed something else. Seems pretty good now, just have to wait till I need to fill up to see the real proof in the pudding, cause the computer was still telling me everything was normal.

Kinda sux when you exhaust eventually does blow a hole in itself, if you don't get it fixed straight away, you'll start doing ridiculously bad fuel eco..
