TJS-81

A VY commodore S ute attempted to drag me thismorning on the way to work. I was not inclined endulge him, so I took off normally... but he planted it anyway. I thought what the hell, so I sunk the boot after he went past. I was a little surprised to find that I was only keeping with him, shifting at about 4000? Had the measure I reckon after 80 km/hr... but I thought the Barra I6 would not have much trouble killing the under powered holden v6. It was auto and he had it flat to the boards (by the sound of it anyway) Should I have redlined it all the way?
Perhaps it was the 172 supercharged version? Anyone have any thoughts, experiences?

From my experience with a a manual XR6 (non turbo). You will need to wring the neck out of a barra to (just) keep in front of an auto commodore. keep in mind the 150 kilo weight difference that holds the falcon back
