hey all...

about to update my current ute (01 XLS MARLIN) to new BA either XR6T or XR8...

im undicided on what i really want...
i would love that bonnet and the V8 rumble under my right foot but reading reviews on the XR8's, the Turbos kill it.
on the other hand i would love to roll up to a clubby at the lights and pump the farker in a ford 6!

so heres my problem!
XR6T or XR8
either way its only a $1,200 step up to the XR8 from Turbo..
insurance is a little cheaper on the turbo...

im also willing to mod either car to get full potential outa the sucker!

whats everyones pro's and cons about each ute or sedan?

The colour is another thing.. blueprint, citric acid or blood orange?
blueprint looks awsome, but at times looks sorta dull
citric acid stands out like dogs balls- any colour would in the new XR's though!
and Orange.. well its a pretty mental colour!

decisions decisions!
i spose im going to have yet another drive in the cars again to really find out what i want..

P.S. does anyone have pictures of the phantom XR8 ute from the FPV DAY? or a MP3 sound file of a stock ba XR8 and another with full exhaust system?....i think it was HERRODS? it had the D shaped duel exhaust tips..

If it was me I would take the XR8 ute in blood orange and never look back!

For only an extra $1,200 I'd go for the XR8. The bonnet bulge and the V8 rumble are worth it. As for colour I'd go for Red. Blueprint is a great colour but pretty common, Citric Acid and Blood Orange just don't do it for me.

I'm amazed the price difference in utes between XR6T and XR8 is so small whereas in sedans it's about 6 grand!!

It's all subjective, whatever you choose you'll be wearing a big grin!! Enjoy the ride............

Why is there only $1250 difference in price betwen XR6T ute and XR8 but in the sedans there is $5490. That sux.

i can't speak for a xr8 owner, but i got myself a xr6t ute and the only way i can describe it is it's an animal! i love it! can't fault it... the power is unreal... the sound... everything, except probably the fuel is uses... but i'm still flogging it!

then on the other hand, a nice v8 is tempting... performance is similar to the turbo isn't it? excpet u get that big beefy v8 sound!

but i'd still stick with my turbo!

Yeah, XLS_UTE.. i'ld say go the turbo... chip/exhaust/boost and you'll have a 300kw MONSTER

Blood Orange XR8 Ute mate ......... u will not be dissapointed at all , especially if you are going to modify it . YOU CANNOT BEAT THE SOUND OF A THUMPING FORD V8 !
