It was very dissapointing to see that Ford does NOT offer a V8 engines with all the utes.
They stopped making LTDs they stopped making RTVs they stopped making dual fuel cars now they also stop giving us an option to have a V8 in any ute line up.............I THINK THAT FORD IS ACTUALLY KICKING ITS CUSTOMERS AWAY............
Now to my problem.....
I currently own a 2004 BA RTV 6 cyl with an alluminium tray and was thinking to update to the new FG series with a V8 engine, but to my shock I find that to have a V8 you must get an XR8.
I need a ute that is able to carry one tonne.

Has anyone out there converted an XR8 to a one tonner?

Conversion will be as follows
(aluminium or steel tray to replace the stylesidebox, one tonne rated wheels and tyres to replace the sports wheels and adding up a couple of extra plates to the springs)

I am worried that if I do the conversion the ute might not handle the weight.
I need advise on this before I get rid of my RTV and replacing it with the XR8
