Hi Guys,

Im hoping someone can help me out here, My Mrs drives a Ka and recently both the passenger and drivers side soor have refused to open from the outside. They have always been a bit sticky but now have given up completly.
I have tried to remove the door trim but cannot remove the manual window winder to fully take of the trim. However I can see the locking mechanism which is housed in a metal box and glued with caulk or adhesive.It looks an absoloute nightmare to get at. What Im hoping is that Im missing the glaringly obvious. Has anyone any ideas.....

You can try WD40 or any other lubricant / penetrating oil spray into lock barrel and on linkage inside door . Sometimes by working back and forth and a little patience it works wonders .Saying that , a common fault is a spring on lock assembly inside door which breaks or comes off causing this problem . Quite a while since I done one , so not 100% sure on your car but the window winder handle was held on with a horse shoe clip behind handle on a lot of Fords .Push trim in and turn handle to see top of clip ,then catch with a hook and pull , should release handle . ( A bent split pin does as a hook ) This should let you remove trim and gain more access to see cause of fault . Hope this helps .
