xr4fiesta

i want to put an after market chip in my mates new xr4 fiesta for him but i dont know anything about fiestas.

where is the ecu located?

is the eeprom chip plug and play or is it soldered in?

do i need any special tools, like security bits or anything?

I dont know about other markets, but in the UK all Ford PCMs are reprogrammable and as such have no need of an actual chip being fitted.
The remap handset will plug into the DLC located under the steering column, and after the reflash that should be that.
