Right, I've got the fine wet & dry, i've ordered some plastic primer and some metallic paint direct from ford, and i wanna colour my side strips (which I'll re-use), door handles and mirror covers.

I know how to get them all on and off, but how do I paint them? Techniques?

rub them down so they are nice and smooth.
clean them all off with summat like white spirit or meths etc.
once dry use the plastic primer in nice smooth strokes.
dont be tempted to spray one area at a time, go from left to right in long strokes. take your time.
i think you need to give the plastic primer a quick rub down with wet paper once dry but dont quote me on that.

then repeat with the top colour.


MAKE SURE YOUR SURFACES ARE CLEAN OTHER WISE THE PAINT WILL REACT AND LOOK CRAP

lol. cheers again 4 the advice mate... is it worth doin a couple of coats of primer and 3 / 4 coats of paint?

lol!! might be worth putting 2 coats of each, just to give it a deep coating.


and yes, give the primer a rub down with wet paper too
