hi

i use my cig lighter to recharger mob phone but it stopped working, it wont charge my phone or light the cig lighter so presume there is a problem with the contained unit within the interior bodywork. Does anyone know where i can buy the contained unit cheaply??? loooked on ebay but none there.

could it be anything else???

Check the fuse first, I've seen plenty blow when use for chargers.

sounds a silly question but which fuse is it for the cig lighter???
i have the haynes manual and owner manual but cannot locate the fuse to check if it need replacing. i have found the fues boxes i may add!!! but not the correct fuse

Just check all the fuses and replace any that are blown. They can all be checked in a minute or two with a $5.00 test light. As far as replacement, they can be bought at most any parts store or wal-mart. Seems like they are less than $10.00

i presume that means checking all the fuses in BOTH fuse boxes??? the one under the steering column and the one in the engine, or is it just one of the above??

The one for the lighter is most likely under the dash. I would check all though, just in case something else is blown that you don't know about. You could also check the wire on the back of the cig lighter to be sure it hasn't come off. Check for power there too. If you have power and ground to it, then the unit should be at fault. (2 cents)
