Re: Fiesta Encore 1998 Improvements
i agree the cost of the mods along with the cost of insurance is just to dear until you get them no claims discount.
i own two cars a 1.4 fiesta (why im here) and a escort RS2000 mk6. my fiesta is just a get me from a to b and now also to work and is totally standard.
my RS2k is near standard with just a superchip, magnex exhaust, K & N panel air filter.
if you look on superchips website and look at claimed extra BHP figures this is with other mods also thats why they normally say up to x BHP increase.
my RS2K is 150PS (standard) which i think is about 148BHP (i always say 150 bhp) when i had it put on a rolling road with those mods on it, it made 155 BHP and to be totally honest i cant notice the difference between standard and now with what mods its has apart from when testing it, it redlines at 7k instead of 6.5k.
i know this is a Totally different car and engine etc but if you look at what the cost of a exhaust and chip would cost to put on the fiesta then look at what difference this will make to performance its really not worth it.
if you do go for any mods check with your insurance first to see what they will charge you for it first. HIC insurance are not bad for insuring modified motors as the first 10% extra BHP i think is free (well it is on my policy)
the induction kit you mentioned if you want more noise from the engine then yes but if you want more power and you are talking next to nothing but more than the induction kit put a k&n or another performance make panel filter in the original air box cos any engine will run better with cold air (the colder the better theres more oxygen in cold air) when you put a induction kit on a car its drawing all that hot air from under the bonnet, where if you use a panel filter the car normally has a air feed from the front of the car to the airfilter box thus colder air.
