r ur little boxes faster than a focus if u have driven one cause my focus zetec is a dog they all r to slow just to slow man need a falcon... or maybe a fiesta if its zippy but i think its prob eevn more of a dog u tell me??

Apparently the Fiesta is quicker than the Focus thanks to it being 200+kg lighter than the focus. More fun in the twisties!!

id say a fiesta would be faster off the line but focus would eat it 30 meters after launch.
Mainly because they are lighter and seem really zippy off the line but struggle a little more in higher rev range. Easily fixed with an exhaust tho

If you want a car for outright speed, even a Falcon is childs play. Why bother with any of these three cars for that, get a real one for straight line speed. And unless you can afford a GT (ala GT40, not the slow aussie one), look outside of Ford, or some serious aftermarket.

my bad i didnt mean i wanted a fast car i just want one that is acceptable "smoothness" blah blah not really fast ... i think im just to use to lazy six cylinder and v8 engines effortless hate revving hate it most of the time i like to drive nice and smoothly with a car that is not a dog thats what i mean 4cylinder seems to need atleast 3500rpm to move at a normal non grandma speed

That's my main issues with these buzzboxes. I love the fact that I can keep ahead of all the traffic and not take my Falcon above 3000rpm. The Fiesta is zippy but not a match for a nice big six. Which reminds me, I need to take the Falcon for a run soon!

Mate you need a zorst and air filter, it totally changes the car for $350. Best $350 I ever spent. I can now even stay in 5th gear at highway speeds and not have to change out even up hills, it breathes so much better, much more torquey.

A Focus Zetec will just get a Fiesta up from start to finish, although it has an even greater top end. It is gaining in first gear and second so it doesn't need to hit higher gears to prove itself. Through a tight twisty section, the Focus is a little more stable over the bumps and can be pushed harder through the corners, however the Fiesta can brake later and can generally turn in quicker.. My Zetec versus a Fiesta Zetec of a mate's through the Norwest Business Park in Castle Hill was pretty much line ball, with me pulling away each time exiting from the roundabouts and him gaining me through them. Along the same route I have also taken a BA XR6 Manual so the corners are most definitely a Euroford strongpoint (well duh!!!).

As for the 1.8litre, I'd reckon the Fiesta might just have the edge. Stock that is of course.
