Hi - urgent request. I have a new shape Fiesta on a UK 2003 plate. BOTH side brake lights have gone and we can't get the casing off. We have replacement bulbs but even after unscrewing top and bottom of the casement, we can't manoeuvre it off - we don't want to break it. Any help greatly appreciated as only my top brake light is working

There's one more nut (like an extended wingnut) holding the lamps on, accessed from inside the boot, lower down.

But be very careful removing the units! There is a push-in fixing near the top outer edge that can be very secure. Manoeuvring the units out too far at the bottom (trying to clear that long wing nut fixing) will almost certainly crack the lenses! I found this out to my expense (£60 a light).
