Fiesta gear change problem
Hi there, first post. Have done a search on the forum but could not find an answer so here goes:
Have a Fiesta Flight 1.3 manual and recently it is getting a bit difficult changing into 3 and 4 gear. Nothing dramatic it just isnt as slik as it used to be. I checked the transmission oil level and its fine, clutch seems ok (all other gears select fine). I was wondering if it would do any good to change the transmission oil for new stuff - car has 67,000 miles on it. If so any recommended oils - handbook says 75/90w.
On another topic its got a chain driven cam and the interval for checking the valve clearances are 10,000 miles. How much adjustment do people normally need to do? I havent been into it yet and I am not sure when they were last checked. I know not for last 25,000 miles at least. I do this on my motorbike regularly and hardly ever need to make adjustments, but that is shimmed whereas the Fiesta has screw adjuster for the clearances. Just wondering if they are more prone to going out or less.
