tamzing

My heater has just packed up, blows out cold air but not hot

what a time of year for it to happen eh.

anyways I suspect from other posts that the valve has gone, called the local garage who confirmed this and quoted me £40 for a new part (!)

Using my intiative I looked on ebay and they are a lot cheaper. However being a girl and not at all knowledgeable about cars and parts, I need help.

How do I know if I'm buying a quality part that will last me? plastic/metal?? does it need to be a certain colour or size for my model of fiesta?

I have an R reg fiesta =)

hey, i've had the same problem twice before it is th heater conrol valve, if you look around at breakers yards you can pick them up for about 15 pounds, hey are quit esy to fit, and it should fix the problem... most of the valves are the same no matter what year the car is, just make sure you top the engine up with coolant as this will leak when you take out the old valve.. hope this helps. carlos
