Hi, I have a 99 Fiesta with Zetec engine. The problem is that the air in the cabin is constantly blowing hot, even when the setting is to cold and when the fans are turned off. I had the heater valve replaced last year so it should be ok. Could it be a faulty electrical connection? I removed the fuse to the fans but its still blows some hot when off. Could you tell me how to get access to the the fan connections and what voltages I should be checking for? Any help much appreciated.
It's not uncommon to need another valve come summer, they tend to sieze either open or shut depending on the seasons, and whether your antifreeze mix is correct.
Thanks for the quick reply. I got the car serviced recently and the mechanic said the valve was ok but it was probably the electrical connection to the valve. Is there anywhere online I can get wiring diagram or details of how to take off the heater control panel to check the connections?
How was it tested? Easiest way is to pull the plug off the valve, put a test light across the terminals and with the temp control set in the middle, the test light will pulse about 1 per second. If so, the control and wiring is ok.
