Fiesta MK6.5 installing aftermarket radio

Hello all,

I've just gotten a new Ford Fiesta MK 6.5 and I'd like to install an aftermarket radio together with some amplifiers and a subwoofer and some better speakers as well.

Only problem is that I don't know where there is a hole to get the power cable in from the engine bay towards the cabine.
Further more, if someone could explain (or have a manual) to remove the doorpanels to replace the oem speakers and place new ones as well as how to hide the cables under the interior carpet.

Many thanks in advance!

Filip

Re: Fiesta MK6.5 installing aftermarket radio

hi there, i fitted an amp and box and a after market stereo to my mk6 just last week.
The hole is on passenger side, if you lift the bonnet and look in the top right hand corner u will see a bunch of wires going in its tight but is quite easy.
The stereo was bit of agro, had to have it fitted by halfords but it can be done for £25.00 i would have it done proper and as for door speakers, sorry aint got round to that yet but will inform in near future

Re: Fiesta MK6.5 installing aftermarket radio

I would allow yourself a good few hours for the stereo swap alone! I swapped my 4500 head unit for a 6006 (Yes I know some people slate them), and manhandling the large fascia whilst trying not to scratch the stereo front was a nightmare! And then there is the whole heater control fiasco, trying to get that cog thing on a cable in – aaarggghhhh!

Re: Fiesta MK6.5 installing aftermarket radio

i am trying to fit a radio into a fiesta

the radio is in 3 sections, not the usual size Din.

How have people fitted the facia? have you taken out the radio and cut the dash board to fit the facia in

Re: Fiesta MK6.5 installing aftermarket radio

Hi, the radio is double DIN and one large unit. The facia of the radio has three indentations which the dash facia runs between giving it the look of three separate sections.

You can attempt to cut the dash but there is a definite possibility it could look crap! I believe you can get a new facia (from Ford) which is for the sat-nav equipped cars, and doesn’t have the bars running across it. You then need a converter plate thing that fits in place of the old double DIN and holds a single DIN unit and a storage compartment.

Re: Fiesta MK6.5 installing aftermarket radio

well i have just fitted an after market sterio to my mk6 fiesta and it took about 3 hours in total. my radio was the 3 tier one and i bought an adaptor and had to cut the two cross bars, this took a lot of the time but it looks decent once done properly. one of the hardest parts of the fitting was removing the dash because the glove box, panel under the steering wheel and obviously the part with the sterio. however the only problem i have found is the facia kit does not curve like the origonal dash, but this is not a big deal.
