Fiesta MK6 paint

Anyone had any issues with the paint work on their new fiesta?

On the roof I can see a few little bumps (like a grain of sand landed on the surface just before the paint went on and covered it). There are about 4 or 5 of these little bumps on the roof - only noticed when washing the car.
Should I ask the dealer to get these cleared up before it's too late or am I looking too closely / expecting too much?
I worried that in a couple years these little bumps may break off and expose the metal.

Re: Fiesta MK6 paint

Yep i sure have noticed this, only place is the bonnet.
im so particular about the paint BUT im not too worried about it actualy.
mainly because my mum caused some damage to my bonnet a couple months ago just after it was in a paint shop getting a scratch fixed.. so in a couple months when i have the spare cash ill take it to have the bonnet redone.

Re: Fiesta MK6 paint

best bet is to take some photos of it.. because its CLEARLY not your fault but instead a fault in the paint. when you get it serviced show them and if they do nothing about it go to the general manager of your dealership with the photos.
These problems are not unheard of so they WILL do something about it if your persistant.

Re: Fiesta MK6 paint

So far my feeling from the dealer is pretty good - at least from the sales guy. He seemed keen to help when I showed him some dull spots in the paint that didn't wash off - got one of the senior mechanics to look at it and he fixed it up on the spot, went around the whole car looking for the dull patches. It was some dodgy wax which wouldn't come off even with Mothers pre-wax cleaner - since it didn't come off I was concerned the clear coat may have been undersprayed - even the mechanic thought that at first so I don't feel so bad :)
Anyway so far so good. Car is now 2 weeks and 3 days old and I've washed it 3 times already! My wife thinks I'm obsessed :) but you see the next door neighbours gum tree is flowering and it's very windy latey and all the yellow pollen creates a fine layer of film over the car and some of it sticks in clumps so it must come off - it must. :)

yes well a few paint defects aside all else is going well. I do have a small list of things for them to check on the 3000k service - I'll let you know how they go with that.
