Fiesta specials?? - Ford Forums

Hey guys

Im still waiting/looking at buying a new car, I was just wondering whether or not there will be any chance of maybe a Fiesta SR? To me $2k for air-con is a big ask. I like the Zetec but since its the same engine through the range I dont see any point in it, I think I can live without ABS and EBD. I basically want to get a Fiesta (or focus) with nice rims (maybe those 16' 7 spole but everyone will have them soon, so im thinking aftermarket instead), bodykit and air-con with finance and keep it as cheap as I can. I dont particulary want to go over about $22k inc on roads.

So basically do you think there will be any specials? Im willing to wait a while.

Also, I do like the Focus SR, but I think thats a CL version with the 1.8, if I got a focus I think I would want the 2.0. Is there a big difference in performance with these two engines?

Just moving this to the Fiesta forum where people might know, and left a re-direct so club members are aware of the thread!

I havent heard of the Fiesta but I hear free air is not in the pipeline.

The Focus SR is the 1.8L (with manual) or 2.0L (with auto) and comes with a set of overstocked UK Ghia rims and free air.

You'll only get the 2.0L manual in the 5 speed in a Zetec... tuned for premium unleaded to release a whopping 9kW extra. So if you don't want to pay for a Zetec, you'll be looking at a 1.8L or a Slush-o-Matic.

And the whole Fiesta range comes with the Duratec variable cam timing engine, including the "Zetec" model - which is such a laugh coz the Duratec is a better engine than the car is advertised with. It's like advertising something worse than it has. Such is Ford.

Buy a 3 door manual LX Fiesta, if you don't want to pay $2k for air then don't option it. Sorry to be blunt!!! It's a brand new car with a long waiting list in many dealerships, especially the Zetecs.

I'd recommend a manual LX with air for about $19,200 drive-away roughly, plus rims and a kit. You could score a set of decent 16's for probably a grand or so change-over with tyres and then get the bodykit painted and installed all for around the $21-22k mark ready to go inc. on roads. Or you could wait and be unhappy

$22k drive away for a little Fiesta with big rims and a kit, that handles like you wouldn't believe and goes like the wind for a small car (and will even keep a 2.0 Zetec Focus honest even given it's 22kw less!!!). I say go the Fiesta LX, manual, 3 door, factory bodykit and some aftermarket alloys. If you're in Sydney I can do it for you no worries. Just give me a holler...
