My son's 01 Fiesta Freestyle 1.25 needs new rear shocks. I've bought new ones, but the lower mount on the new ones is a U shape with a captive nut as opposed to an eye with a rubber bush. Did Ford fit different types or are these wrong? Anyone know?

Yes I think the latest/replacement items have wide type bottom mounts that fit outside the axle instead of inside. Are these Ford items? If so you need to ask if there's modified bolts to go with them.

No they're not Ford ones. How do they mount to the axle then?
