confused Ford Fiesta Mk6(03) Air filter

I have just purchased a universal air filter for my fiesta, but i am a little unsure of how to go about fitting this item. any help would be greatly appreciated.

there is a rectangle black box at the top of your engine, undo the 4 screws and take old one out n replace is it a panel filter

By 'universal air filter' then im guessing its a conic shaped filter sold as 'to fit all cars'? Try visiting the K&N website (K&N performance air filters, K&N elements, K&N 57i induction kits) and find you car model. You can then access the fitting instructions for the K&N product (same process).

Just be wary however, as I have heard that universal air filters can have adverse effects on performance through poor/inadequate filter elements restricting air flow etc.

its kl its fitted now along with the rest of my toys
