Ford Fiesta not starting properly
Hi there,
I have a Ford Fiesta LX, L Reg 1.1 and am having issues starting. Basically, the car splutters somewhat when you start the engine, and I have to put my foot down on the acclerate to power it somewhat.
Now sometimes, this will do nothing and it'll immediatly die, but then sometimes it'll power into life. With the accelerator down and being revved, the car sounds fine, however when I leave the accelerator, the car doesn't tick over as it was doing, and usually just splutters and dies with the battery light coming on and the engine goes off.
Now I'm no professional with cars, but we've looked at the spark plugs and fixed the gap between those to what it should be, and my mates Dad also had a look inside the carbriator (sp?) and all seemed fine.
It's odd because as soon as you stop revving it wants to die. Yet only on Monday were we using the car and it worked fine.
Any ideas?
