Hi everyone.

It's just a quick question - I have a Ford KA 1.3. It has a "built in" audio system with FM Radio and Cassette. That is all.

I was hoping to install an Amp, Sub, some decent door speakers etc. - Does anyone know if this is possible seeing as it is all built in?

Have any of you got the same car as I have and have experienced the same problems?

I would appreciate any help you can offer.

I know that it is possible to replace the headunit as a friend has done this , unsure about the speakers although I would be suprised if this wasnt possible. For the headunit you will need to get a Ford --> ISO convertor and the fascia adaptor (bout £25 from Halfords all told), if you can replace the speakers then check if you need adaptor rings and you can get them from Halfords too. Might be worth a phone call to a dealer to check about the speakers.

I have gone and bought some replacement speakers for the door panels to start with (i intend to get a new stereo and sub etc. at a later date!)

To fit the speakers, I need to remove the inner door panel... have had a quick go and it looks like it will snap if I try any harder to get it off... I have unscrewed it but something is clipped in and I can't quite get it out.

It looks like it will cost about £35 to have it done properly, and I just dont want to have to spend this money... so can anyone perhaps talk me through removing the door panel and replacing the speaker for a Ford KA?

All help is greatly appreciated.

It might be worth nipping out and grabbing a Haynes manual, or if you can wait having a look on eBay. I had to do the same thing on my Fiesta and without the manual I was a bit lost, feels like its going to snap!

Also I managed to break a few of the clips behind the door card and had to buy a few replacements (pence). The Haynes just cleared a few things up and made me aware of things before I screwed it up!!!! The other thing is that they are worth having, have referred to mine loads since I bought it,saves so much time!
