Ford KA steering problem

Hi, Just replaced N/S wishbone and track rod end on 2001 ford ka, passed MOT ok but now the steering ( power ) is roaming all over the road also when accelerating hard and changing gear, any views.

Many thanks

Re: Ford KA steering problem

If you haven't done so already, the tracking needs to be reset when either of those components is changed.

Re: Ford KA steering problem

Many thanks for the response, had the tracking done straight after replacing parts and before MOT.

It passed the MOT as it is now, so i'm assuming its not an obvious problem.

Thanks

Sounds a lot like when the bushes are popped out of the arm- the new arm is ok, isn't it?

Re: Ford KA steering problem

Many thanks,

I have taken it back to the MOT testing station who say the O/S arm and track rod end require replacing, not sure why they didn't say that in the first place, so changing them tomorrow.

Will let you know.

Regards

Re: Ford KA steering problem

New O/S arm and track rod end sorted the problem. Lesson learnt.

Many thanks
