I have a 2000 UK Fista 1.3 which is leaking fuel from the filler cap. The tank is never filled beyond the first click but on two occasion recently I have noticed a trickle of petrol running from the filler cap down the side of the car. When the filler cap is removed about half a pint of fuel floods out leaving the fuel level with the filler opening. The weather is never that warm here (UK) but I guess there is some expansion going on. Does anybody know why this might happen and where I should look for possible porblems? I now have two nice hole in my drive where the full has eaten it away. :-(

Any advie would be geatly appreciated.

it might be that your fuel filler breather pipe is blocked, ive had/got the same problem on my 1.8 diesel, after a bit of a poke around with a piece of wire stuffed down the filler breather pipe, its not leaking at the moment. it might be worth a try.
