My drivers door lock has stopped working and all the others are on the way so i got a full lock set off ebay for 30quid. How do i get into the key so i can take the chips out of the old keys and put them in the new ones?

I don't want to stick an old key on the steering rack and loose the immobiliser.

Hi mate
The easiest way around your problem would be to take your "new" door lock to a locksmith and have it coded to the "old" key then fit it on your door. The only way I've been able to remove the transceiver from inside the key is by screwing a short screw on the lid (on the edge of the key) and pulling the cap off by pulling on the screw. The transceiver will be visible then (looks like a little capsule-shaped pill).

You should be able to pry the cap out with a knife or small screwdriver. It comes straight up from the head. Watch the fingers
