Just a quick gday. My wife has taken a sudden interest in the Fiesta. She currently has a VR Statesman V8 and wants something smaller to go to the shops and cart the little fella around. We went to the local Ford dealer and checked the range out. After looking at the zetec, I think thats the one we will be buying. Probably with the red interior and black paint with the sports kit too.

Just a quick question. Do these cars get hot in summer with the black interiors? How good is the air con in them?

The only other Fiesta I drove was a 2001 model zetec in Scotland. I cant wait to get a little Ford again after all those years in my escorts.

Black cars tend to get hotter in summer since the black doesn't reflect as much heat as light colours.

Air con... let's just say it's no Falcon aircon. It does the job just fine on most days, but I left it out in the sun for about an hour the other day (it was around 40 degrees mind you) and the aircon was struggling to get the thing to cool down inside. That's the only time it was having issues though.

Awesome little cars though - you can't go wrong with a Fiesta.

Simply said, Black on any car looks AWESOME but if you arnt outside polishing and waxing your car every few weeks then dont get a black fiesta. Get a silver one.. in a matter of months a blacky will honestly look shithouse.
The interior is an absolute pain in the backside to keep clean and it does get a little warm inside when parked.
I have found the aircon is great, open windows slightly, turn it on 3 to let hot air out and start cooling down, put windows up and keeo it on 3 for a while, then after a min or so put it on recycled air.
I had 2 other people with me on a near 40 degree day and it was like an esky in my car!!! but but but air con KILLS power in this car, i find the car is unrefined, jumpy and loses around 40% throttle response and power when its switched on especialy during a hot day.
Definately going to be a better run around car than what you have aswell... and with the savings on petrol you will be buying more from the shops

I have a black with red interior Zetec. Air con was fine before I got tinted windows and now I just leave it on 100% cold and fan speed 1 and has no problems keeping the car icy cold. The car does heat up pretty quick as the glass area is quite large but tint on the windows improves things heaps.

And don't worry about the size of the car, I had 4 guys in the car and it still went fine, even with the air con on! It is a great little car and much better than what the competition offer but it is a fair bit more expensive.

I have also found that the spare parts seem to be reasonably priced as well.

Yeah parts are pretty cheap.
ohh i did my oil change yesterday :D the filter from ford cost me 12 bucks.
Then i went and bought shell fully synth oil and plonked it in

Mine has the black interior, and damn does it get hot if parked in the sun, but i admit, the air conditioning works great, and the engine doesnt slug much when its on either!
I bought mine from City Ford, and the dealer drove the car with the air cond on 4, and revved the car beyond red line and screamed its way to 100kmh to the top of the hill on Princess Highway... Lets just say i had the biggest smile on my face!
