Smile just bought a fiesta

no...not the british bongo mag, but a ford fiesta.

1981 fiesta ghia, loaded with lovely features like a factory sunroof, a clock, a radio (am/fm andpush button) and, err, other luxury things.

and, it has 1.1 litres and 56 unrestrained horse power.

oh the power and the glory. who needs an xr8?

but i actually like them. have always fancied them, wanted one a while back and now have a very cheap, economical runabout that i can put the dog in (he is not getting in the new xr) and cart a bit of crap about.

and the xr has left ford and is on its way to tickford for some bits to be added. then on a train to sunny perth and then to me. shouldnt be long now...

A sunroof!! You could have made one yourself with a can opener! Ah well at least it has a blue oval on it.

I used to work for Ford and whilst there a customer hit a big puddle in a newer model Festiva (kia thing). Well, where the air box snorkel is if you hit a big enough puddle it floods the airbox and seizes the motor. Well, that is what this person did. Being a fairly new car at the time parts were unavailable so these people were given a new XR6 to drive (EL at time) by FoMoCo. They eneded up having it for about three months before the car was fixed. How would you feel, giving back the XR6 and driving away in a Festiva. This started of as a Fiesta story by the way and then i remebered is Festive. I always muck that up :)... oh well I had already written it before I realised..lol

I can't believe that FM hasn't taken this opportunity to jump in here... I mean, it's not often that he can boast of the Festy having more grunt than something else (with the exception of several varieties of sewing machine and dishwasher). :s6:

Hmmm ok 56hp's = 42kw not bad out of a 1100cc engine. FM would have a slight advantage here he's got a stompin 47kw not to mention the extra torque out of the big block 1300cc. :s6: :s6:

As what Advilliax says, i've never seen a Ford Fiesta in the ford price listing, so it must be a grey import. Well enjoy your new ride matey.
